While we have owned flat coated retrievers since 1987, we bred our first litter in November 2006. Our foundation stock is from Bushman Kennels and we are indebted to them for the lovely dogs that they allowed us to have as part of our lives. Our first litter was from Ch Bushman Dream Come True (India), and sired by Grand Champion Bushman The Deputy. India gave birth to eight puppies, six males and two females, one liver dog and one liver bitch. We kept both bitches, Ch Firebush Dizzy Miz Lizzy and her liver sister, Ch Firebush Let It Be.

In August 2009 we mated Dizzy, Ch Firebush Dizzy Miz Lizzy to Disco, Grand Ch Explicit No Trouble At All (imported Sweden). Both parents have outstanding temperaments. Dizzy produced eleven puppies on 21 October 2009, ten of which survived. We have kept a black bitch Firebush Billie Piper who recently gained her Australian Champion title. The rest of the puppies went to homes all over Australia including Perth, Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. We were very happy with the quality of puppies in this litter.

In March 2011, Maya, Ch Firebush Let It be was mated to Harry, Ch Bushman Live and Learn using frozen semen and 15 puppies arrived on 25 May 2011, 12 of which survived. It was a tricolour litter with 5 black females, 2 black males, 1 liver female, 2 liver males, 1 yellow female and 1 yellow male. Again these puppies went to homes all over Australia and two promising black bitches are going to New Zealand. From this litter we kept a beautiful liver male who we have called Wicked. We were thrilled with the quality of this litter and with their super temperaments.

Puppies from Firebush have travelled all over Australia and to New Zealand.

We are hoping there will be a litter from Ch Kellick Midnight Ticket ToRide in late 2016 or early 2017.
